All Chairman’s Club Member Agents travelling by Air for attending the CM’s Club Convention should as far as possible get the Deal Code Nos as mentioned below of the respective Airlines duly recorded at the appropriate place while booking their tickets.

 The CMs Club Member agents who are eligible for Senior Citizen Concession are advised to obtain air ticket at the concessional rate by producing documentary evidence. They should also avail of similar concession given to Senior Citizens in case they travel by train. The Club Members should book their Air Tickets well in advance (i.e. before 10th September, 2013) to avail the concessional discount fares offered by the different Airlines. Kindly note that if the club member fails to book the air ticket before 10th September, 2013, he will not be entitled for reimbursement of Air fare.(Please refer CO circular dated 17.08.2013 under ref:Mktg,/A/CCC2012-13).

IRDA to come out with Common Service Centres (CSCs) across India soon

Common Service Centres (CSCs) across India soon will be aiding the insurance companies in India in selling their products. It is expected that the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) will bring out a notification on the same in the next 15 to 20 days.

The new model of CSCs is expected to come into operation within the next one to two months. These CSCs would be similar to brokers, and would be able to sell products of multiple insurance companies.

The CSC is a strategic cornerstone of the national e-Governance Plan (EGP). The CSCs are aimed to provide high quality and cost effective video, voice and data content and services, in the areas of e-governance, education, health, tele- medicine, entertainment as well as private services. A highlight of CSCs is that it will offer web based e-governance services in rural areas, including application forms, certificates and utility payments such as electricity, water and telephone bills.

The centre had planned to roll-out over 1, 00,000 CSCs across the country with a focus on the rural areas. The CSCs will deliver services in the area of telecom, health, agriculture, entertainment, education, FMCG products, banking and financial services (insurance) utility payments among others. Each CSC is expected to serve a cluster of 6-7 villages, thereby covering more than six lakhs villages across India.

The Public Private Partnership (PPP) model of the CSC scheme envisages a three-tier structure consisting of the CSC operator called Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE); the Service Centre Agency (SCA), that will be responsible for division of 500-1,000 CSCs; and a State Designated Agency (SDA) identified by the state government responsible for managing the implementation in the entire state.

CSCs will be authorized to sell life and non-life policies after its officials undergo the mandatory examination conducted by Insurance Institute of India.

This will provide much needed boost to insurance penetration in India. This model can prove to be cost-efficient and quick, if implemented in the appropriate manner, say insurers.

Aviva may pull out of its Indian life insurance joint venture, valued at over $500 million, as the British insurer retreats from less profitable markets where it has struggled to expand.

Aviva, which aims to cut cost by 400 million pounds or $611 million by year end, is in the process of hiring corporate advisors to find buyers for its 26% stake in Aviva Life, its joint venture with Dabur group.

Aviva is considering various options, including selling stake to Dabur group if it fails to find a foreign buyer. Aviva would be the third foreign insurer to quit India since 2012, stymied by regulations that restrict foreign ownership and fierce political opposition to changing those limits.

HSBC had launched a process to sell 26% stake in its Indian insurance joint venture with two state-owned banks. 1.Dutch banking and insurance group ING, 2.New York Life have exited their India insurance joint ventures.and 3.now aviva

Aviva had identified India and China as ‘high priority’ and ‘must win’ markets, but the move to sell out of India signals a change in that strategy.

A well-known speaker started off her seminar by holding up a Rs. 1000 note. In the room of 200 people,

she asked, “Who would like this Rs 1000 note?”

Hands started going up. She said, “I am going to give this note to one of you but first let me do this”

She proceeded to crumple the note up. She then asked, “Who still wants it?”

Still the hands were up in the air. “Well,” she replied, “What if I do this?”

And she dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. She picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty.
